U14s at Home to Cheadle/Sheffield

We have now played all teams in our league once, and in general terms there are some excellent teams in the U14s (including ourselves), and the standard of lacrosse is high.  4 teams in particular stand out, with little or nothing to split them, and the results in these games (between them all) are usually settled by an odd goal or two, and the results have the potential to go either way.
Today we welcomes Cheadle/Sheffield, and started the game well with both teams sharing early possession.  Cheadle were clinical in front of goal and imposed themselves with 3 goal before we got one back before the end of Q1, leaving the quarter 1-3 down. Q2 started much the same, with Cheadle putting another 3 leaving us trailing 1-6 down, before a time out was called and a sense of urgency instilled into the players.  Lets initiate play, and make things happen, with quick incisive instinctive play, and with the need greater than ever to get some goals back.  The boys responded, with 4 goals on the bounce leaving us trailing by 1 5-6, at the end of Q2.
Q3 seen us draw level at 7 a-piece, but all that effort getting back level took its toll, and Cheadle managed 2 more before the break, leaving us trailing by 2 7-9.
Q4 the games wasn't beyond us, and although we tried we just couldn't bridge the gap and a final 3-3 quarter, saw us lose 10-12 on the day.
High standard of lacrosse by both, with Will H (5), Hugo (2) and Cameron (3) our only scorers today, and only 2 goals assisted.  19 shots today.
