U12s Stockport vs Timperley Oct 19th

U12s Stockport v Timperley

A dry but overcast morning greeted us as the U12 boys visited Timperley for this eagerly anticipated fixture on the AstroTurf. Their 52 was playing with dispensation but both squads had good numbers

Q1.

Timperley started brightly and the 52 scored. Stockport seemed to get to grips with the pitch better and Tom soon had a good shot that went just wide. Effective play from Freddie and Tom levelled the score. 52 was sent off for a slash. More good work by Stockport led to a fine goal by Tom. This was followed by good defensive work by Josh and Archie. Timperley came back with two further goals. The quarter finished with a great goal by Henry. 4. 4

Q2.

Stockport started this quarter strongly and a combination between Tom/Freddie/Henry led to a good goal followed by a furtherimpressive solo goal by Henry to take the score to 4-6. Timperley 52 responded quickly with a goal to take it to 5-6. This was turning into a great game of sport with end to end action. More good defensive work from Stockport kept Timperley at bay and a good shot by Jacob just missed by a whisker. 52 scored again to end the quarter. 6.6

Q3.

A fine start by Stockport saw Ethan score. Effective and solid defensive work by Stockport was followed by yet another goal. This time a fine solo effort by Ethan to take it to 6-8. Good defensive work from Euan and pressure from Stockport led to a goal from Henry. Tom followed with a shot that ricoched off the post but Timperley responded to make it 7-9. Good keeping from the Timperley keeper halted Stockport from opening up a bigger lead. There was really good action from both sides again. With 3 minutes to go, Henry scored again but Timperley 52 scored just at the end of the quarter. 6.10

Q4.

Again the quarter started brightly with Tom scoring to make it 8-11. At this point Stockport were dominant however, Timperley got back into the game with another goal to make it 9-11. A big moment in the game followed, with Jacob getting his first goal. The large Stockport crowd went wild and his Dad was seen leaping around like a gazelle. With just a few minutes to go, Timperley took the lead with 3 fine goals! Then about a minute to go Timperley took the lead but the game wasn’t over...Stockport fought back with a smashing goal from Dan to make the final score 13-13 all.

A fine game played in a good spirit. Sport at its very best!
