U12s Stockport vs Liverpool
It`s really great too see the Liverpool u12s team back in the league again from a few years of absence, despite only turning out with 6 players, they do have more back at home.
Stockport made up the rest of the Liverpool numbers and so nearly almost all players were on the pitch for most of the match which is just as good for experience and participation.
Once we sorted out who was playing for who, the game got off to a fairly quick start with Tom Smith scoring the first for Stockport and then going on score two more consecutively before Louie Royle got in on the action with his first goal of the season so congratulations to Louie. Tom went on to score yet another this quarter. Stockport were strong at face off with Henry working well. The Liverpool side seemed a little overwhelmed at this stage too but battled on.
Felix Clarke scored his first 2 ever goals for Stockport as well as Louie and also Ollie Howard too, finishing half time 13 - 0 to Stockport.
The coaches changed the teams around once more for the second half to mix things up a bit and give the Stockport players a chance to play for Stockport and vice versa.
Jacob jnr got himself on the score sheet with a goal for Stockport as well as Henry Parker and Ethan with their excellent hard work in midfield managing 4 goals a piece.
The Stockport keeper had been tested a few times by now and still had a clean sheet until Liverpool finally scored in the last quarter, with Josh clearing straight to a Liverpool player, I`m not sure whether he did this on purpose just to get in on the action a bit more, however the Stockport boys were all up for a goal each by the time the fourth quarter came around with Archie Bland scoring his first goal for Stockport too, the last goal of the game, congratulations to Archie!
A well involved and committed team performance by Stockport, despite playing the bones of the Liverpool team.
