U12s Stockport VS Timperley.

U12s Stockport vs Timperley.

A stunning Autumn morning again this week, with sunshine and a touch of dew on the grass, it was also enjoyed by the Geese who have took up residency on the pitch, outside the club house
The Timperley boys were here bright and early onto the pitch ready to warm up with some players that looked more like U14s, as they sized the Stockport players up before the pitch was finished being set out.
The face off and Stockport opened the score with Dan Teal in the first few minutes, for a fast and positive Start by Stockport.
It soon became evident however, that the Timperley players were bigger and faster and more experienced  as they replied in the first quarter with six goals, finishing Q1 6 - 3.
Q2 Stockport fighting back with great enthusiasm during this quarter, as the pressure evened out just a little, the Stockport boys fought well for the ball, but were mostly outplayed by more accurate passing and catching and more efficient ground balls, finishing Q2 10 - 5 to Timperley.
Q3. Was much of the same with some of the Stockport players having different expectations, feeling the frustration and disappointment a bit.
The more mature Timperley players dominating the pitch bombarding, Josh the Stockport keeper with good hard shots who in turn made numerous great saves and despite the score line,  probably had his best game of the season yet. Finishing Q3 14 - 7 to Timperley
Q4 Overall Stockport were overwhelmed with bigger stronger and more experienced players who didn’t appear to tire that much and continued relentlessly to attack the Stockport Goal.
This game was a good learning curve for the Stockport boys who have won their last two games, so losing occasionally is not such a bad thing at this stage, which in time will help to develop some resilience and resolve. A very well done to our young U12s team, playing against Timperley, who are definitely the strongest team in the league this year, judging from the ELA team standings.

Goal Scorers  Jacob B 3.   Dan Teal 4.

Final Score Stockport 7 Timperley 19
