U12s Stockport vs CheadleHulme/Norbury
Well the wind eventually blew the rain away this morning, for a great Autumn morning of Lacrosse.
In Lacrosse, some teams, including Stockport have had difficulties from year to year recruiting players and being able to field a complete team in various age groups.
This is what has happened with Cheadle Hulme and Norbury U12 teams, who have had to merge for this season. Stockport however have the benefit of 15 really enthusiastic U10s and U12s combined players to field during the match.
A positive start with Jacob B opening the score against what appeared to be a reluctant Cheadle/Norbury keeper, followed by Ethan and Daniel. Finishing the quarter by 5 - 2
to Stockport.
Much more movement of the ball today as Stockport worked to develop their passing game, being inclusive to all players on the pitch. Including young Jacob Morris working hard for the ball with some impressive ground ball recovery and running well despite being taken out on occasion.
Q2 Saw Stockport scoring with four different players. The first of the season by Ollie, so congratulations to him! As well as goals from Ethan, Henry, Daniel and a kick in from Jacob B. finishing Q2 11 - 5 to Stockport
Q3 Six more goals from Stockport, leading against the visitors 17 - 6. The Stockport Keeper, Josh making numerous great saves as well as falling over the back of his own net and then caught up in it.
Some great defending happening too now from Archie and George making some good runs out of defence.
Q4 Only a couple of goals in the last quarter from Jacob and Dan as the tiredness crept in despite the coaches making regular changes finishing Q4 19 - 7 to Stockport.
A great performance from our U12s team with great fighting spirit, a good game to get our newer and younger players involved. A great win despite being a younger and smaller overall team.
