U14s Entertain WACS/Cheadle Hulme

Always an interesting debate about merged teams, and the merits there of, but as the game needs to keep youth players playing then merged team offer this advantage, and there were 13 good players wanting to play for the merged team.
As a pre cursor for next weeks semi final it was important that we remained focus and to task and throughout I thought the boys did this exceptionally well, and some of the goals were absolutely sublime.  With one in particular, followed a patient slow clear between the defence, moving through midfield and finished off coolly by our attack.
No Youtube feature this week, having to rely on stills and stats to provide detail.  The game felt more competitive than the scoreline indicates, competitive at face throughout, strong players on both sides.  We didn't win face straight away, and WACS/Cheadle Hulme enjoyed early possession and a great one on one save by the keeper quickly turned defence into attack and we struck first.  A 6-0 quarter, showed great quality in our players and how much they are improving with no weak links in the entire team.
The quarters thereafter carried on in the same vain, with a 5-0 Q2, a 4-0 Q3 and a final quarter of 4-1 left us the victors of 19-1.
Rhys and Hugo were on fire today with 7 goals apiece, Cameron with 3, Will H an Luca got in on the act.  Only 7 assists, which surprised me, 3 from Cameron, 2 from Rhys, 1 Hugo and 1 from Luca.
Good to see Finlay moving up from the U12s to the U14s, almost got one today.
