u12s Stockport vs Cheadle

u12s Stockport vs Cheadle

A great looking pitch this morning at Cheadle for a game of Lacrosse in the now much milder and much needed Spring weather. Stockport were fielding 14 players this morning, once everyone had finally arrived. Cheadle again were flush as usual with their 16 players .

Q1. Some good settled play coming from Cheadle from the start, as they got themselves organised with some good movement of the ball around the Stockport half with Josh managing to make five consecutive saves before they started scoring. Stockport were strong at face but again too quickly giving the ball away from trying to run too far with it neglecting obvious passes or rushed careless passes with possession going straight back to Cheadle finishing Q1 6.0 to Cheadle

Q2 Practically the whole of the first half of this match was being played in the Stockport half with the Stockport attack having barely a touched the ball. Stockport were winning some of the face offs but there was just no positive movement of the ball, with the midfielders often running with it straight into Cheadle players and losing possession. Cheadle scored another 4 goals with Josh the Stockport keeper sustaining a back injury falling on his stick from a head check ending the quarter 10. 0 to Cheadle

Q3 A re-shuffle of players around the pitch for Stockport for this quarter as we resigned ourselves to a defensive play with fast breaks. Cheadle were just too strong for our young and inexperiences Stockport team who dominated the play with their great passing ability, managing another 4 goals ending this quarter 14. 0 to Cheadle

Q4 Stockport were just looking to score at least one goal by now with Dan Teal at last scoring for Stockport which was soon followed by Jacob B The referee played a little extra time in Stockport’s favour, giving us a last chance of an attack from the centre line with Dan Teal scoring another goal from an assist from Jacob.
Overall there appeared to be a lack of vision this morning from the Stockport players, who simply played in their own immediate space and neglected to look around, to where their team mates were, with a view to including them in the play on the pitch.
A large number of stockport players were also appearing to watch the Cheadle team play great Lacrosse and not intervene or engage quickly enough and were very static at times. Maybe just not in the mood.

Final Score Stockport 3  Cheadle 18
Assist Jacob B. Dan Teal

Goal Scorers Jacob B 1 Dan Teal 2.
