U12s Stockport vs Poynton/Rochdale.
Another fairly mild morning for a January Lacrosse match, at Home to Poynton and Rochdale.
Also a big warm welcome to our newest player Tom Smith in his first match for our Stockport Lacrosse club.
Q1. Poynton were off to a really strong start once the face off was taken, they really meant business and judging the amount of support from their parents they wanted this win badly. Poynton scored first, until Henry replied soon after with a goal as well as a blast at the cross bar also. As we got ourselves into the game, a really great first ever goal for Ollie Howard, so congratulations to Ollie on opening his account! Two in from Jacob B ending the first quarter
4. 3 to Stockport.
Q2. The tensity grew as the match went on with an assertive Poynton ref and the loud Poynton supporters. The game became a little rough at times with a few frayed tempers and unnecessary roughness.
Some great hard work defending happening from Archie George and Thurston as well as Ethan, contending a strong Poynton attack well., with two more goals from Henry and one from Ethan finishing Q2 7 6 to Stockport
Q3. An awful lot of sending off was happening during this tense match, nobody was safe! A lot of attacking from the strong Poynton No 13 runner gunner. with two more goals for Stockport from Henry and Jacob B,
finishing Q3 9 8 to Stockport
Q4. End to end attacking in this quarter with two more goals from Jacob B and Josh making some crucial fully committed saves towards the end of the match. Overall quite an evenly matched game with a lot more passes being strung together by the Stockport side all working hard around the pitch giving as good as they got against an aggressive Poynton side.
