U12s Stockport vs Heaton Mersey 

Onondaga Cup quarter final 

After a bye at the start of  the cup, Stockport were straight into the quarter final against Heaton Mersey. However with a number of key regular players down including Ethan and Thurston  and then George and Finn who were unable to because of age dispensation.

Q1 Stockport started strong with Dan Teal winning the face off and with a single pass to Jacob B  who scored almost immediately. This was the only time we lead the game and Heaton Mersey replied with 7 goals in this quarter to Stockport’s 3  with a goal from Henry and 2 from Jacob.

Q2 Stockport came back fighting and actually won this quarter with some positive movement off the ball with some coast to coast running from Euan. Stockport also managed the stringing of some good passes together with some great finishing from Dan Teal and Jacob B scoring 3 each ,Stockport dominated the face off and Stockport were on the offensive for most of the quarter.

Q3 Stockport seem to run out of steam and let Heaton Mersey right back into the game during this quarter with the gold team scoring 4 goals to Jacobs only goal of this quarter, being assisted with a brilliant passes from Sam Powell.  Heaton Mersey collected a lot of ground balls more easily, working  the midfield well and exploiting the Stockport, pretty much new defence, despite Archie doing his level best, even taking a Heaton Mersey player out at one point.

Q4 Was much the same with Stockport managing a couple of last ditch goal from Jacob and Dan Teal and despite an obvious vacuum in defence left by George and Thurston Josh managed to make 11 great saves during this match.
