U14s Stockport vs Cheadle/Cheadle Hulme

U14s Stockpost vs Cheadle/Cheadle Hulme

Cup Match

The first cup of match this year for the U14s, with both teams having a good number of experienced players capable of playing good Lacrosse, which is enjoyable to watch. A little ground frost was soon dispersed by the morning sunshine and the pitches were perfect for hosting three Lacrosse matches, the U12s and U16s also.

Q1. The team played the ball straight up from midfield with ruthless conviction with Reece scoring first, followed by Hugo and then two for Jay Mellow from the crease.
Another Goal for Hugo taking cheeky a long shot which caught the Cheadle keeper off guard, who didn’t` even see it coming. another goal for Reece and one each for Joel and Luca, a lot of individual efforts, 8 goals with only 2 assists.

Stockport were 8-0 up by the end of the first quarter, and that’s great, there's nothing wrong with that, it practically won us the match, like the job was almost done by end of the first quarter and now for some passing it around right?

Q2. Well not quite, Stockport had dominated the game, however, it looks like the U14s players are missing trick somehow in that while being 8-0 up, they seemed a little reluctant to pass the ball around the team, wanting to just annihilate the other team taking shot after shot, straight away without always being on target.
There were still players on the team that hadn't even touched the ball. For the good of the game a regular touch of the ball keeps players engaged, then when the ball is going the other way they are more likely to react quicker instead of having gone cold.
So therefore only 2 more goals this quarter, a goal for George and also Ted on the score sheet with a great goal.

Q3. A change of players for Stockport with some newer players coming on for some action and experience with Issac Louie, Findley and Ted. Now although the play became a little scrappy at times, Stockport still recovered the ball well and persevered with another goal from Reece and Jacob 4.

Q4. More goals happened during this quarter also, while I watched the last quarter of the U12s Stockport vs Mellor match, with the U12s Mellor team appearing to pass it around their team more than the Stockport U14s did today.
Reece scored 3 more, another for Jay Mellow and a goal for Findlay. A clean sheet for Aaron although both of the teams could of included him a little more.

Finishing Score Stockport 20 Cheadle 0

9 Assists in the end with Hugo 3 Reece 3 George 2 Joel 1

Next week it’s Mellor and Stockport are going to need every single player well up for it and prepared to fight for the win.
Mellor lost to Timperley today and they will be looking to redeem themselves!

                                                                     Man on Harry!

Hosting three matches, we only had 20 squared meters to play on...

Can we let Ted have a stick now, he's played a few games now!

Must be a big job breaking out?

I hope they're not going to dig a hole?

Swap?, I`ve not even touched it yet!
