U12s Stockport vs Boardman and Eccles.

U12s Stockport vs Boardman and Eccles.

After another week of rain we are always grateful for such a good pitches at the Stockport club, as always to allow the games to commence, where a lot of others would most likely be waterlogged.
Playing at home to Boardman and Eccles this looked like it was going to be challenging judging by the ELA table so far.

Q1. Boardman and Eccles looked confident and scored first soon into the first quarter, however Stockport soon replied with Dan Teal scoring two consecutive goals soon after and this looked like game on, however Stockport were really struggling for possession of the ball giving it away all too easily with really careless passing, the ground ball attempts were too slow and too half hearted and often resorted to flicking it about the pitch with few attempts to pick it up. Boardman scored another two finishing the first quarter 3.2 up.

Q2. Only one goal scored this quarter by Boardman and the teams looked evenly matched, Stockport could hold their own with this team but wasted every chance in front of goal shooting wide or at the keeper or giving away possession, sometimes at the clearance stage even where work is needed to coordinate the keeper with the rest of the team more effectively.

Q3. Euan Mills scored a great individual goal running in from midfield and finishing well but again Stockport struggled to control the ball properly, rushing passes, often losing a Stockport ball.
Boardman scored another two goals simply with accurate passing and good movement of players

Q4. A great goal for the Stockport No 23  Finlay Young, but again Boardman and Eccles really overcame the Stockport lack of effort off the ball and Boardman with their passing capability scored another four goals.

Despite losing and the overall score the Stockport boys arrived but never really turned up, they never really looked anywhere near their best and this is going to have to go down as one of their off days. Stockport lacked coordination, situation and spatial awareness and at times and were extremely static off the ball and all this during a game where we really are capable of beating the other team and have proven in past games that they really have a much better playing ability.

Finishing Score Stockport 4    Boardman and Eccles 10
