U14s Travel Across the Pennines to Face Sheffield

At the start of every season, I wonder how the season will pan out, and how well this team can develop throughout the season.  We are blessed to have good numbers, with our ranks recently added to by complete novices, but with good coaching and practice these players can quickly find their feet.
The game itself, was a little one sided, but knowing how difficult it is for us to get juniors to play, I wonder how hard must it be for Sheffield and all that travelling, so for them to have teams at U12, U14 and U16 is a terrific achievement.
First few passages of play, showed, that we wont have it all our own way at Face, but once we were in possession we made sure it counted for something.  5 goals in the first quarter, and 1 for Sheffield at the other end.
Q2 was much the same, and I felt that we knew what to do with the ball once we had it.  We are strong in defence, athletic in midfield, and clinical up front, with another 6 for Stockport and 1 for Sheffield.
Q3 and Q4, were both 0-4 quarters to Stockport, and with our keeper not having to make a save in the second half.  We managed to get a couple of debutants on to the field to give them valuable game time.
The game finished with us the victors 2-19, and then the journey back home.
Scorers today Rhys 7, Luca 6, Hugo, Jacob B, Joel, Jay, Findlay 2, with a superb 14 assisted by Hugo (7), Jacob B (3), Luca (2), George (2).
All in All, absolutely delighted to be back playing, and watching a good group of juniors playing to the best of their ability.
Let the season begin!
