As is always the case, we expect to come up against a strong Mellor team. With only 10 players turning up, there was an opportunity for a starting berth for both Ben and Alex, and they didn't let anyone down. Stockport raced into a 2 goal lead, with two excellent taken goals from Joe Bacchus, for Mellor to pull one back before quarter end leaving us 1-2 up at the end of Q1. Mellor coming back in Q2 4-2, and Q3 was Mellor's as well at 3-1 and a nice even 3-3 final quarter leaving us with an 11-8 scoreline. 5 goals from Luke, and 3 from Joe B, always kept us in the game, and with some good fortune on the missed opportunities one never knows what might have been. Don't like to single out players, but Luke was dominant at face, and with strong performances from Joe B (who stayed on the pitch) and William we did a good job this morning. A good morning, even in defeat, one can be pleased with their performance.
