In an eagerly awaited first game of the year, there was a nagging doubt that the boys in blue wouldn't get a game due to the frozen pitch. But with a desire from both coaches, and players the game was on. After the start we had, one was wondering if that was a good idea. Racing into a 0-3 scoreline we didn't look like we knew what we were doing, and just when we felt it was all in vain, we popped up with a goal at the end of Q1, to leave us trailing 1-3 at the end of Q1. Although not spectacular in Q2, we were at least a little more solid, with a honours even quarter at 1 a piece, leaving us trailing 2-4. As we enter Q3, with our usual pearls of wisdom from the coaches, we started to show signs of what we are capable of, and although the quarter went 2-3 in Merseys favour there were signs we were improving. With us looking like another defeat to Mersey, we pressured Mersey's goal, and with a 4-1 quarter in our favour the game finished 8 a piece. But, how close were we to winning, with 20 seconds on the clock, we won the last face of the game, quick pass into Cameron, and the usual impressive Cameron just pulled the shot wide. Only 2 scorers today, Cameron (5) and Luke (3). We look forward to a difficult cup game at Norbury this weekend.
