As we meet Mellor for the 4th time this season, it is always a fixture where both sets of players and parents look forward too. We know the quality is there, and if both teams turn up then we are all in for a treat.
Todays game was no different, quality on show, some of the best players at this age group looking to move the ball well, and get their team in front.
The first quarter was a tense affair, even at face, even in all the key positions, and it was no surprise that Q1 finished all square at 2-2. Mellor twice going ahead, for Stockport to peg them back.
As has been the case many times this season, Q2 tends to go the way of the Boys in Blue as our strength and determination gives us a little edge in these tough game, and with some good goals we found ourselves surging ahead with 0-4 quarter. Q3 belonged to Mellor 3-2, with both sets of coaches agreeing to a training game, Stockport played D a man down all through this quarter. Q4 was just edged by us 2-1, leaving ourselves on a 6-10 victory.
As this season has gone on, credit where credit is due, our your men have improved through their own commitment and the commitment of the coaches. Rarely missing coaching sessions, always having enough players to play and a desire to be as good as they can be.
10 goals today, Hugo (2), Rhys (1), Will (2), Cameron (5), and 6 assisted Hugo (2), Rhys, Cameron (2), and Joe B.
