A delayed start on a misty pitch in Rochdale on Sunday saw the annual U16s 6-a-side tournament get under way. With a team of 8 boys, all in the lower age bracket of U16s we must have been the youngest team competing. So, after 3 out of 4 wins in the round-robin qualifying games, we put in great performances to get us into the semi finals!
We only lost out to what turned out to be the two finalists on the day, so it was an all round great day.
Semi final against Timperley - we started out well- losing at half time by just one goal (3-4) but Timperley were a strong, skilled team, and ran away from us in the second half.
A great day though, and bodes well for next year.
