U14s Away at Cheadle Hulme/WACS

For only the second time this season we found ourselves on our travels for the small trip to Cheadle Hulme.  Cheadle Hulme and WACS have joined up this year, in order to keep a good bunch of kids playing lacrosse, however, our quality was well suited to the very large Cheadle Hulme pitch.  Uncharacteristically, we lost the first face of the day, and settled in to good defensive work for the first few minutes before we quickly broke and scored the first goal of the morning.  The remaining quarter was forward play by Stockport, and we managed to bag another 4 in Q1 leaving us 0-5 to the good.
Q2 was a similar pattern, with Stockport getting another 4, before allowing our hosts to get a couple of goals before the break, and a 2-4 quarter.
Q3, four goals to Stockport, and Q4, 3 goals to Stockport leaving us the victors on the day of 2-16.
Highlights today have to be the quality of the goals, the re-introduction of Joe (after a 3 year break)with 12 of the 16 being  assisted and 6 different scorers this morning.  Assists were Cameron (8), Hugo (2), Luca and Will H.  Scorers today were Hugo (2), Rhys (6), Will H (4), George, Luca, and Cameron (2).
We welcome Rochdale at home next week.

U12s Stockport vs Sheffield Steelers

Stockport vs Sheffield Steelers

A fair old trek across the Peak District today and a drop down into steel city to visit Sheffield Steelers and their G4 astroturf in glorious sunshine.
Also a great turnout for Stockport with 15 players.

Q1 Stockport opened the score in the first minute with a Dan Teal face off and an assist for Jacob against, what went on to be really good Sheffield keeper.
It was the usual scrapping for the ball at every opportunity, from both sides with great credit from Stockport who never give up the fight for the ball in all areas of the pitch, helping to score 3 goals in the first quarter to 3-2 to Stockport.

Q2 Saw Stockport have a lot of opportunities to score against Sheffield, however the Sheffield keeper denied a lot of shots, making some great saves, but Stockport were persistent ending Q2
8-4 to Stockport

Q3 Sheffield applied the pressure, playing a lot of Lacrosse in the Stockport half and around the Stockport crease with some aggressive ball chasing and a lot of shots by Sheffield and the Stockport Keeper, managing to keep the ball out in a cool and then sometimes chaotic manner, with Sheffield failing to score at all in this quarter, to their disbelief. ending Q3 10-4 to Stockport.

Q4 Sheffield managed to score 3 goals with some mistakes in defence and some careless clearances with the ball coming straight back at the keeper, a few injuries and a change of a few players on the pitch again, which saw Ethan manage to score a goal. Overall it was a great match with some passing and assists this week, every single Stockport player contributing with a great fighting spirit for all of the match.
Final whistle 12- 7 to Stockport

Assists from Dan, Euan and Josh from a long clearance.
Goal Scorers;  Ethan. 1  Dan. 3  Jacob B. 8
